R vs. W - Lewes Crown Court - Illegal importation of tobacco

Represented one of four defendants accused of (1) evasion of the duty chargeable on hand-rolling tobacco and (2) money laundering. The case allegedly involved the illegal importation of tobacco into the UK from abroad. The tax evaded was said to have been in the millions. Our client was acquitted. Two other defendants (not represented by this firm) were convicted and received lengthy custodial sentences.
