R vs B - Guildford Crown Court - ABH

Defendant accused of Assault occasioning Actual Bodily Harm and Common Assault following a brawl outside of a Pub.

The Crown Prosecution Service had authorised the above charge based on CCTV footage which was of very limited quality.

Our experts enhanced the CCTV footage; removing blurring that had been caused by a spider’s web across the camera. The footage revealed that the complainant had in fact swung the first punch.

No evidence offered in relation to both charges. Defendant bound over to keep the peace for 12 months. Criminal conviction avoided.
